Confirmation: Date to be confirmed for 2020.
The sacrament of Confirmation will be held at St James Forest Lodge.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is your child’s further commitment to their Baptism, when they receive the blessings and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The preparation for this Sacrament, is done as a communal effort between the family, parish and school. The preparation dates will be confirmed once application forms are received, but will begin on with a Commitment Mass and information session, commencing at the 9:30am Sunday Mass. Attendance at this mass and information session is compulsory for all children making the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The cost of the Confirmation booklets, sacrament pin, certificate and reflection day meal is $25. Payment details will be included with the application paperwork.

As the primary educators of the faith, parents are involved in preparing their child to receive the sacrament by working through the activity book and discussing the sacraments at home. This year, the activity booklets will be completed by the candidate and their family at home and reviewed and reflected upon at the Retreat day. (TBA)

Preparation Activity Book
Your child will receive an activity book to help them prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This book contains four sessions that each child must complete.

  1. Jesus promises the Holy Spirit
  2. Pentecost – The Holy Spirit comes
  3. The work of the Holy Spirit – Gifts and Fruits
  4. Celebrating Confirmation

It is the expectation that parents and carers will complete each of the sections of this booklet with their child. The completed booklet will need to be brought to the Retreat Day.

Confirmation Retreat Day
The Retreat Day will begin with Mass at 9:30am. The candidates and their families will participate in a range of activities such as reviewing the content of the activity booklet, sharing their Confirmation Saint project, preparing a special gift with families and a rehearsal. It is expected that the day will conclude at approximately 12:30pm with lunch. Parents and carers are expected to remain with their child during this day.
